Polson fire departments respond to garage fire

A grass fire quickly became a garage fire that the City of Polson Fire Department and Polson Rural Fire District were able to quickly extinguish on Wednesday, Aug. 5. (Courtesy of City of Polson Fire Department)
At approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, both the City of Polson Fire Department and Polson Rural Fire District responded to a garage fire on Sixth Avenue West.
Arriving units found smoke coming from the detached garage and believed that the fire originated from a grass fire outside of the building. The crews were able to contain the damage in the interior, and fire suppression efforts continued until 3:30 p.m.
In total, three fire apparatus and 17 personnel responded to the scene, and no injuries were reported.
