A Polson man admitted to vandalizing a vehicle, causing more than $5,000 in damages.

Jaiden Szandor Jacobson, 22, entered a plea of guilty to felony criminal mischief in Polson District Court on Aug 6. The plea was ordered as part of an agreement that defers sentencing for three years and requires restitution for damages.

According to court records, on Oct. 16, 2025, law enforcement officers were called to investigate a disorderly male at Polson Landing Apartments in the Ridgewater subdivision. Law enforcement arrived on scene and identified the male as Jacobson.

The officers spoke with the property manager and the occupant of the apartment where Jacobson was attempting to make contact. Officers made the decision to give Jacobson a ride home.

The property manager contacted law enforcement again about two and a half hours later and indicated that Jacobson had returned and was hiding in a stairwell. The property manager said Jacobson left the building and “keyed” a red Chevy pick-up truck.

Law enforcement returned to the apartment complex and observed the word “cheater” was scratched into the paint of the red pick-up. The cost to repair the damage was estimated to be $5,581.63.

Judge John A. Mercer set sentencing for Sept 24. Jacobson remains at liberty.
