A domestic incident in Troy led to multiple felony charges against a local man.

Bryce Allen Hammrich is accused of assaulting a police officer, criminal mischief and drug possession, all felonies, following the July 26 incident near Roosevelt Park.

Hammrich is also facing several misdemeanor charges, including partner or family member assault, resisting arrest, unlawful restraint, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

According to the probable cause statement, Troy police officer Ian Smith responded to a residence where the defendant threw a rock into a windshield of another man. Smith reported he had investigated both men in the past under the same circumstances in the past.

Smith saw a large amount of damage on the windshield and hood of the vehicle.

The alleged victim said he and Hammrich were in a romatic relationship since January. He said Hammrich and he argued before the accused poked him in the chest and pushed him around. 

The man said he and Hammrich have a past together and he also mentioned Hammrich was combative when he drank alcohol, which he'd done earlier that night. Their argument turned physical when Hammrich allegedly threw a punch at the alleged victim. The man said he Tazed Hammrich, turned to get into the truck and the accused threw the rock at the windshield.

Ofc. Smith said he found Hammrich outside a home near Roosevelt Park. Residents said they wanted the defendant to leave while Smith saw children playing nearby.

Smith reported Hammrich became combative and screamed at him when he tried to arrest him. After a physical altercation, Smith placed handcuffs on Hammrich. According to Smith's report, the defendant kicked him in the right calf. Once inside the officer's patrol vehicle, Hammrich allegedly kicked wildly and tried to escape.

After arriving at the Lincoln County Detention Center, detention officers searched Hammrich and found a clear pipe with residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Hammrich is being held in the county detention center on $50,000 bond.

Convictions on the police assault and criminal mischief may result in a prison term of 10 years. A conviction for possession of dangerous drugs may result in a 5-year prison term. 

The misdemeanors may result in a range of county jail from 10 days to one year.
