The Silver Valley beams with local pride this weekend with two beloved festivals returning to the historic mining towns of Murray and Wallace. 

The annual Wallace Huckleberry Festival celebrates the juicy berry of choice of Idaho foragers, while Murray honors a local historic figure with its annual Molly B’Damn Days festival.

The picturesque streets of Wallace run purple this weekend with a three-day schedule jam-packed with huckleberry-themed festivities. The event includes street vendors, live music with five different bands performing, huckleberry pancake breakfasts Saturday and Sunday, a pie-eating contest, a bake-off competition and a 5K fun run Sunday. The Youth Art Exhibit also returns this year to the Northern Pacific Railroad Depot, showcasing local talent.

"What I love most about the Wallace Huckleberry Festival is it's family friendly," said Huckleberry Festival Coordinator Christine Berry. "It gives families the opportunity to make fun memories."

With the street fair and live music beginning at 5 p.m. Friday and closing at 3 p.m. Sunday, this year’s Huckleberry Festival offers the perfect opportunity to explore the rich history and lively atmosphere of Wallace.

The town of Murray celebrates the legacy of its beloved folk hero, a charitable prostitute known as Molly B’Damn who famously rescued a woman and child caught in a blizzard and treated victims of smallpox in the 1880s.

Molly B’Damn Days takes place Friday to Sunday with a street fair, car show, parade and crowning of the 2026 Molly Queen. Four young ladies will compete for the title, each sponsored by a different bar. 

The Bedroom Goldmine Bar will host two bands, a barbecue, beer garden and an ice cream bar for kids. 

“It’s all family-oriented,” said The Bedroom Goldmine Bar owner Rene Mahaffy. “Everyone having a good time, kids playing outside.” 

The newly crowned Molly Queen will draw the results of a raffle to win a 10mm Kimber 1911 pistol.
