Kevin Cacy Boling, 77

Kevin Cacy Boling, known to many as "Kev," passed away July 31, 2026, at his home in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, after an extended battle with a rare disease. He was 77.

Born on Nov. 9, 1948, in Seattle, Wash., Kevin moved with his family to Palo Alto, Calif., at age 8, but the summers he spent in Idaho with his Uncle Bud shaped the rest of his life. He married Nancy in 1971, graduated from the University of Idaho in 1974 with a degree in Forest Resource Management and never looked back.

Kevin spent 20 years with Potlatch Corporation, beginning as a contract logging supervisor in St. Maries and rising to manage the company's forestry, manufacturing, and public affairs operations. After a stint in Wisconsin, he returned to Idaho with Forest Capital Partners, managing timberland acquisitions across the West and closing $87 million in land sales and conservation easements. In 2011, he founded The Boling Company in Coeur d'Alene, and he contributed to the Kootenai County Comprehensive Plan. He loved every job, every place and, above all, the people he worked alongside.

A man of deep faith, Kevin was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewiston and more recently worshipped at St. Andrew's Presbyterian in Newport Beach with his children and grandchildren. He loved skiing, flying, his Harley, 49ers football and nothing more than his grandkids.

He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 55 years; his daughters, Sierra Yearsley, Emily Sigrist and Marisa Boling; his sons-in-law, Ryan Yearsley and John Sigrist; his grandchildren, Ella and Claire Yearsley and Madeleine and Maguire Sigrist; his sisters, Keri (Roger) Swenson and Jillian Dugger; and his half-brother, Sean (Marie) Boling.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hagadone Event Center in Coeur d'Alene. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CurePSP at psp.org.
