Beer and cider enthusiasts are in for an exciting treat this weekend, with the Ales for the Trail craft beer festival offering a taste of over 60 different beers and ciders in Coeur d’Alene City Park on Saturday, Aug. 15, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Enjoy the buzzing energy and late summer weather while raising funds for the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation. Ticket money goes directly toward maintaining the beloved 23-mile paved Centennial Trail for the enjoyment of runners, hikers and cyclists. In return, expect to experience:

Unlimited tastes of craft beers and ciders on offer from over 25 regional breweries, as well as wine, ciders and mocktails.

Live music by Jip Skippy & The Unprepared, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the JamShack Band from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Raffle tickets available for purchase to win amazing prizes.

Access to food trucks and games.

Opportunity to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.

A commemorative cup included with tickets purchased online.

General admission tickets are available online through Eventbrite until 2 p.m. Aug. 15 for $45 per adult before Eventbrite fees and sales tax. After 2 p.m., tickets will only be available at the door.

Tickets are $10 per child aged 6-17, and free for children 5 and under. Minors must be accompanied by an adult, and valid ID is required at the door to be served alcohol.

VIP tickets are also available through Eventbrite for $60, including early entry at 2 p.m., a VIP seating lounge, exclusive access to specialty beers, complimentary raffle tickets and a Nacho Bar by Oh Baby! Food Truck. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit nictf.org/ales/.

Feeling a little lonely lately? In need of some warm fuzzies? Come join fellow booklovers and hopeless romantics at the Well-Read Moose to celebrate Bookstore Romance Day on Saturday, Aug. 15. All romance and romantasy books will be 10% off all day, with an opportunity to spin a wheel for special romance-themed prizes with a purchase. Your purchase will also include a free additional “blind date” book, which will be a mystery until unwrapped at home.

Five local romance authors will visit The Well-Read Moose throughout the day for meet-and-greets and book signings. When you visit the bookstore Saturday, expect the opportunity to meet:
