Legion: 2 Lakers are honored as All-Conference for AA

The Montana-Alberta Class AA American Legion honors teams have been selected, and pitcher Max Schara and outfielder Miles Arrowsmith of the Kalispell Lakers were named All-Conference for 2026.

Schara was one of six pitchers named to the All-Conference squad, which included 19 players. He threw 48 innings for the Lakers, posting an earned-run average of 2.33 and a “WHIP” — walks-plus-hits allowed, divided by innings pitched — of 1.292. He struck out 31 hitters. 

Arrowsmith was one of four All-Conference outfielders. He hit .286 with on-base percentage of .333. 

No Lakers were named All-State, which included five players from the three-time State AA champion Missoula Mavericks, including tourament MVP Colter Nicolarson. 

Four Lakers, however, were selected for the Second Annual Montana High School All-Star Game: Schara, Kyler Kroft, Tait Orme and Barady Buckmaster. That game was played Saturday in Butte.
