After four years in the making, Scarywood is unleashing its largest haunt ever created at the park with the all-new “Nightmares.” 

The attraction will feature 13 phobias brought to life across 14 rooms, taking guests from one nightmare to another as they traverse one of the longest haunted house attractions in the park’s history. Whether it’s fear of spiders, dolls, pain or death, there’s a new fright around every corner.

“Four years is a long time to dream up ways to terrify people,” Silverwood’s Director of Marketing and Entertainment Jordan Carter said in a statement. “Our team has poured an incredible amount of creativity into this attraction, and the scale alone is unlike anything we’ve done before.”

Silverwood Theme Park invested $600,000 into the development of Nightmares, the largest single investment in Scarywood history. Its creators were inspired to turn to a more personal level, fear itself, when it came to the conception of Nightmares rather than basing it around a single story or spooky monster.

“During every Scarywood audition, we ask our scare actors to share their biggest phobias, and we are using that research to incorporate the most popular fears into this haunt,” Carter said.

Scarywood will hire 300 scare actors, with more than 100 positions already filled. Auditions for those interested in providing a scare will take place through September before the event kicks off Friday, Oct. 2 and every weekend through Friday, Oct. 30.

Scarywood will also debut two new scare zones: “The Wharf,” which whisks guests into the dark as the tides rise, and “Doom Town,” which promises the joke is always on the guest.

Other new features for this season of Scarywood will include four additional haunted attractions, 10 scare zones, thrill rides in the dark and live entertainment. Returning attractions for 2026 are “The Swine,” “Chuckles 3D Sideshow,” “Bloody Bayou,” and “Pharaoh’s Curse.”
