Marilyn Collier was born in Wallace, Idaho, on June 16, 1945. Knowing that she would not be able to properly care for her daughter, Marilyn's birth mother, Kathaline, placed her up for adoption. Marilyn was adopted by her loving parents, Hazel and Peter Mack, soon after her birth. Not too long after that, her brother, Phillip was adopted, and the Mack family was complete.

Growing up near the creek, she and her brother would spend summers fishing for Rainbow trout. Swimming in the pool in downtown Wallace was also a favorite pastime. Another summer favorite of Marilyn's was spending two weeks each year on Lake Coeur d'Alene with her church's youth fellowship.

Marilyn enjoyed playing the piano and the organ, which she began at ages 5 and 11, respectively. At 12, she began playing the organ for her church and did so until she graduated from high school. When she was 13, she joined the Masonic organization for girls called Rainbow, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She played the organ for them when she was 17 and 18. In her senior year of high school, she attended a church camp near Bremerton, Wash. While there, she and her fellow campers were treated to a trip to the World's Fair in Seattle! Among Marilyn's many hobbies was skiing. She began doing so at 7 years old and continued through high school, taking second place in Giant Slalom her senior year. Golfing and bowling with her father were highlights of her childhood as well, and she became quite proficient at both. Another hobby Marilyn took up was needlepoint, for which she had a natural talent. She made countless needlepoint panels, which she gifted to loved ones, and which adorn the walls of those who loved her. She won ribbons annually at the Kootenai County Fair every summer.

Marilyn met her husband, Dale Indergaard, in November of 1964. One year later, they married. They had two children, a son born in 1967 and a daughter in 1969. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage before Dale's passing in 2011.

Marilyn considered herself fortunate to find love not once but twice! She met Tom Collier in 2013 and married in 2015. She and Tom loved to travel both domestically and internationally. They loved to vacation each year, either by travel trailer, train or cruise ship, visiting Australia, Colombia, New Zealand, Canada and Alaska. Each year was a new adventure to be planned, and Marilyn did so with enthusiasm.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, husband, mother, father and brother. She is surely loved and will be sorely missed.
