Columbia Helicopters headquartered in Aurora, Oregon is using the Mineral County Airport for a temporary base to fight the Moose Mountain fire in Idaho. This particular model is a 1963 Sikorsky Vertol II that carries a 1,300 gallon water bucket. Similar in shape but smaller than a Chinook helicopter, these were used for passenger transportation. The size, square windows and single nose gear for landings are the obvious differences.
