Post Falls man arrested after standoff

POST FALLS — A standoff with a wanted man in Post Falls ended peacefully Wednesday night.
A press release said police officers and detectives were conducting surveillance on Curtis Moreland, 42, who had a felony warrant for robbery and grand theft in Post Falls on Tuesday night.
The release said that during the robbery, Moreland threatened a taxicab driver and stole the taxi.
Officers observed Moreland at his residence and the Post Falls Police Special Response Team was summoned to the scene.
Moreland surrendered after a two-hour standoff. He was taken into custody and booked at the Kootenai County jail for his felony warrants and resisting arrest.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department assisted in the arrest.
