The 6-foot-1 redshirt senior outside hitter from Lake City High was named preseason MVP as the preseason all-Big Sky volleyball team was announced. Stoddard, who redshirted at Gonzaga before playing the last three seasons for the Lumberjacks, was named co-MVP of the Big Sky last season. NAU was picked to finish second by the league's coaches, behind Northern Colorado. Idaho State and Montana tied for third in the voting, Weber State was fifth, Idaho ninth, Eastern Washington 10th in the 11-team league.

The 5-foot-10 junior setter from Post Falls High was one of four Toreros named to the preseason all-West Coast Conference team, as selected by the league's coaches. Munday was the league's Setter of the Year last year, and was 25th nationally in assists. San Diego was picked to win the conference, followed by Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.
