Crown Choir welcomes new artistic director, puts call out for new singers

The Crown of the Continent Choir welcomes Mark Petty as its new artistic director. 

Petty brings 28 years of music education experience to the position. He holds degrees in choral conducting and has extensive experience conducting ensembles and teaching choral music at the university level. 

The choir also invites singers of all experience levels to join the choir for its 15th-anniversary season. Auditions are not required. Adults interested in joining can attend an upcoming rehearsal at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 at Flathead High School, 644 Fourth Ave. W., Kalispell.  

As it celebrates 15 years, the Crown Choir continues its tradition of combining a love of choral music with service to the Flathead Valley. Throughout the season, the choir performs benefit concerts that raise awareness and support for local nonprofit organizations, while its annual spring concert serves as its primary fundraiser.
