Free Fishing Day winner receives prize

Declan Armitstead, winner of the 11-12 age division at the Rotary Club of Bonners Ferry’s Kids Free Fishing Day in June, was recognized during the club’s Aug. 18 meeting. 

Armitstead caught a 15.25-inch fish during the June 13 event at Snow Creek Pond but had already left before winners were announced and photos were taken. 

Rotary Club President Sandy Johnstone presented Armitstead with a new fishing rod. Armistead said it was his second year participating in the fishing event and that he and his family kept, and ate, his winning catch.
