Parking-related recall will cost Sandpoint residents

Who is behind the recall of the mayor? I haven’t met anyone who lives in Sandpoint supporting it? In fact, according to local media, the woman filing it has a Sandpoint address but lives elsewhere.

The cost of parking for a year is $20 for city residents and $35 for county residents. It helps the city maintain and improve the infrastructure. As it is now all that cost and weight falls on city residents even though they are only a fraction of the people using it. The time limits and parking restrictions for most of the town are the same, but now they will be enforced. There is still plenty of free parking, so just drop your kids and stuff off at the beach and walk a little. 

Yes, the kiosk is a little confusing, but come on, a recall? The recall is going to cost the taxpayers of Sandpoint money. It feels like hurting Sandpoint and making someone else pay for non-city resident’s fun is the whole point.
