A suspect is in custody after the Kalispell Police Department responded Wednesday night to a report of an assault with a weapon on the city’s west end.
Kalispell resident Roger Grilley, 88, is being held in the county jail on a pending felony assault with a weapon charge.
The roughly 9:30 p.m., Aug. 19 incident prompted a large law enforcement response, including the deployment of the regional SWAT team to the 500 block of 10th Street West, officials said.
Patrol Capt. Chad Fetveit declined to identify the weapon allegedly used in the incident, saying he did not want to disclose the details of an ongoing investigation.
If charged and convicted of felony assault with a weapon, Grilley faces up to 20 years behind bars and a $50,000 fine.
