Karen Lynn Dane passed away Aug. 7, 2026, with her daughters, Nichole and Crystal, by her side, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Karen was born July 3, 1961, in Havre, Mont., to Robert and Charlolette Newman. She was the only daughter and grew up alongside her brothers, Ron, Ke'vin and Dean. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Newman; her brother, Gordon "Deano" Newman; her nephew, Dane Bowers; and her beloved granddaughter, Amari English.
Karen is lovingly remembered by her mother, Charlolette Newman; her brothers, Ron Newman and Ke'vin Bowers; and her daughters, Nichole Peterson, Dwan Otto and Crystal English.
She was a proud grandmother to Alexis Newman, Kira Newman, Taylor Manning, Carissa English, Justin English, Daisy Otto, Gavin Brennan and Cole Brennan. Karen was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Rylan, Forest, Emberly, Greyson, Kean and Harvey, and she eagerly anticipated the arrival of her seventh great-grandchild, expected at the end of August.
She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, Wava, Keva, Tara, CyntheA, and Roni D., as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.
Karen's love for her family was unwavering, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. She also found great joy in music, dancing, the outdoors and the simple moments that made life meaningful. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and devotion that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Karen's love will remain with us always. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held at the Waterfall Prayer Garden, at 4971 North Atlas Road, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815, on Aug. 29, 2026, at 3 p.m.
