Michael "Mike" Shadel, 69, passed away in Phoenix, Ariz., on Sept. 13, 2025, from a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He will always be remembered as having a twinkle in his eye, a kind smile and a positive attitude for all he met along his 69-year journey.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda; their son Alex; step-daughter Samantha and her husband Anthony, Brad and Sira Day; siblings Sharon Williamson, Kenny and Peggy Shadel, Ronnie and Angie Shadel and Mary Ann and Jeff Douglas; along with many nieces and nephews and all of his Idaho family.
Michael moved to Phoenix in the '70s and after various jobs, met the Bowman family and started in construction. From there, they decided to open a school to assist contractors in obtaining their license in the State of Arizona. The school still remains in business 40 years later.
Michael's passion was playing on his tractors and spending time on his property in Idaho. He called this his "happy place" and was always involved in a "project or two" at any given time.
Services for Michael will be held on his beloved property on Sept. 12, 2026, at 2 p.m. at 5326 Selle Road, Sandpoint, Idaho. Following the services, a celebration of life will be held at 5344 Selle Road, Sandpoint Idaho.
