Range Riders fight back for third straight victory

The Glacier Range Riders erased an early three-run deficit Friday night to pick up their third straight win over the Boise Hawks in Pioneer League baseball at Glacier Bank Park.
Glacier (12-12 in second half, 41-41 overall) took a 2-1 lead in the first behind RBIs from Donovan Ratfield and Carson Garner, but Boise (21-13, 44-38) answered with four runs in the second to jump ahead 5-2.
Tommy Rover singled home Garner in the third before Carson Hornung brought in Brock Vradenburg in the fourth, trimming the deficit to one.
In the seventh, Glacier pulled ahead. Rover scored on Kyle Ashworth’s RBI double to tie the game and Logan Beard followed with a single to take the lead 6-5.
Rover added insurance with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Glacier finished with 14 hits and the bullpen kept the Hawks scoreless over the final seven frames.

Zach Longshore delivered eight scoreless innings for Glacier, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out eight on 100 pitches.
The Range Riders broke through the scoreless game in the sixth.
Carson Garner and Carson Hornung reached base before Brock Vradenburg drew a walk to load the bases. Jake Millan cleared them with a grand slam to center field, his 15th of the season, giving the Range Riders a 4-0 lead.
Hornung followed with his own longball in the eighth, hitting a solo homer to left field, increasing the score 5-0.
Boise scored its lone run in the ninth as Matthias Haas singled home Michael O’Hara. Alex Bustamante came in and recorded the final out to earn his second save.
