Delores Evelyn Johnson passed away peacefully Aug. 20, 2026, at her home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Delores was born Dec. 18, 1938, in Miles City, Mont., to William and Philomena Dahl.

As a young girl, she moved to Hayden Lake but spent most of her life in Coeur d’Alene, where she attended high school. She worked for many years at the J.C. Penny department store, first on Sherman Avenue and later at the Silver Lake Mall. Delores’ greatest treasures were her family, and she especially enjoyed traveling around the U.S. in a motorhome, visiting all the lower 48 states.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents, William and Philomena Dahl; her brother, William Dahl Jr.; her husband, Clayton Johnson; her two sons, William and David Johnson; and her partner of many years, Don Newton. She is survived by her nephew, John Dahl of Duluth, Minn.; her niece, Nancy Dahl of Victoria, British Columbia; and her granddaughter, Jessica Patton, and two great-grandsons, Leyton and Knox Patton, of Missoula, Mont.

Her family is grateful for the many members of the Coeur d’Alene community who looked after Delores over the years: friends, neighbors and the people of Hospice of North Idaho. No services at this time. The Neptune Society of Spokane is assisting with arrangements.
