Golf should compete with the best in division

The Columbia Falls golf team will look to make its mark on the division this season with several solid golfers on the squad.
“We should compete at the divisional this season,” coach Josiah Osbourne said.
The boys have solid golfers in Austin Hall, Bentley Cady, Dylan Owens, Jack Bowler and Tristan Victor just to name a few. The hope is by October, they can compete as a team at state.
The girls’ side has good numbers, too, including Ella Branstetter, Tirzah Raymond, Verona Simonson, Irelyn Cocherl and Jillian Goodsell.
The varsity season opened Monday with a home tourney at Meadow Lake Golf Course.
The boys took fourth. Austin Hall tied for ninth with an 84 to lead the boys and Ella Branstetter was 16th for the girls.
Divisionals this season are in Polson and the state golf tourney is in Shelby.
Osbourne is assisted by Devin Cady and Amy Piilola.
