POST FALLS — The Sandpoint High boys golf team earned a third-place finish, with a total team score of 324, at the Trojan Invite in Post Falls on Wednesday afternoon. 

Senior Bode Eacret led the way for the Bulldogs, shooting a 75 at the Highlands Golf Course. Eacret was backed up by an 81 from Rajah Brown, an 83 from Miller Ely and an 85 from Drake Reid. Landon Day shot a 92 on the day, but his score was not counted toward the team’s final total. 

The Sandpoint boys’ final score of 324 was the best of the three 5A schools who participated in the invitational, besting the Lakeland boys’ team by four strokes and Moscow's boys team by over 30. Playing in the singles group, Sandpoint High’s Camden Funderburg shot a 105, third out of the four single players. 

The Lady Bulldogs finished fourth out of the five teams with a total score of 405. Hannah Majors shot the lowest of any Sandpoint girls with a 94. Ella Mahlum had a strong day, shooting 101 and was followed by Evey Walker shooting a 102 and Hailey Gove shooting a 108. Ysabelle Lopez shot a 126, but her score was not counted toward the team’s final total. 

Sandpoint’s Alison Petro played as a single and shot 121, the third of four single players. 

The Sandpoint High golf team’s next meet is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Coeur d’Alene Public Golf Course.
