Nancy Jane Wilhelm (Atkins) was born Dec. 3, 1947, in Kendallville, Ind., to Howard and Eleanor Atkins. At age 13, Nancy and her family moved to Post Falls, Idaho, where she would remain for most of her life.
Nancy graduated from Post Falls High School in 1966. She married Richard “Dick” Wilhelm, and they had three beautiful children.
Nancy was a hardworking woman who spent her life working across a variety of industries before retiring from Kimball International at age 67. She was blessed with many lifelong friendships and treasured the people who became a part of her life.
Nancy had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, theater, animals and diamond painting. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends. Those moments and the memories she created with the people she loved were among her greatest joys.
Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Barber, and her two brothers, Tom Atkins and Chuck Atkins.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Karri Sherman (Mark); daughter Melissa Wilhelm; and son Brian Wilhelm; as well as five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and countless cherished memories.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
A memorial service and reception will be held at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at 1 p.m.
