COEUR D’ALENE — Sandpoint’s senior Bode Eacret was once again the star of the show for the Bulldogs at the Lake City Invitational on Thursday.  

Eacret shot a 73, 15 strokes better than his closest teammate, and tied with Post Falls' Karl Berend for the fourth-best individual score of the match. The Bulldogs finished sixth out of seven teams at the match with a final total score of 339. 

Landon Day and Drake Reid both posted an 88 on the day, tied for the second-best score for the Bulldogs, while Miller Ely rounded out the scoring for Sandpoint with a 90. Sandpoint’s fifth golfer, Beckett Fuller, shot a 95, but his score was not counted toward the team’s overall total. 

For Lake City, Trey Lambert earned medalist honors for the second day in a row, shooting a 65 on Thursday. Lambert shot a 66 at the Trojan Invite on Tuesday to earn his first medalist honor of the week. 

For the Sandpoint girls, Hannah Majors led the way just like she did on Wednesday, shooting a 90 on the course. Ella Mahlum ended with the team’s second-best score, 104, which was followed by Hailey Gove, 108, and Evey Walker shooting a 114. Ysabelle Lopez shot a 128, but her score did not count toward the team’s total. 

After back-to-back meets, the golf teams are off until Sept. 2 when they head to the Twin Lakes Golf Course.
