COEUR d’ALENE — Lake City senior Trey Lambert, a Boise State commit, shot a 7-under-par 65 to earn boys medalist honors at the Lake City Invitational at the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club.

“Trey had an unbelievable round today,” Lake City girls coach Corey Owen said. “He was 7-under after the front nine, had a few struggles on the back, but hung on to post an incredible score. The boys and girls battled today. I’m proud of their effort. We just need to continue to work hard.”

Coeur d’Alene junior Ella Wilson was girls medalist with a 4-under-par 68, leading the Viking girls to the team title.

"Ella was sensational today shooting a bogey-free 68," said Coeur d'Alene girls coach Jeff Lake of Wilson, who tied her own school record, set last September at the Susan Mitchell Invitational at Hayden Lake Country Club. "Ella described her round and play today as 'boring,' and to me those kinds of rounds that really go low. Boring and perfect from start to finish. The ladies played some great golf once again. Coeur d'Alene Public is not an easy course, and the girls did a great job of consistently staying in position and avoiding major trouble and big numbers."

Lewiston won the boys team title by 12 strokes with a 298.
