Soccer: Whitefish girls win, boys fall

WHITEFISH — For the Whitefish girls, the only goal they needed came in the 15th minute. For the boys, that goal never came.

Atley Bingham and Mahalia Horton found the net as the girls beat Livingston 2-0; in the boys match, Livingston’s Maxfield Schuelke had the only goal in a 1-0 Rangers win.

Anna Boysen's run down the right side and centering pass to Bingham helped put the Bulldogs up 1-0, and Horton tallied just before intermission, putting away a rebound of a shot by Delila Vine. 

Coach Kelly Ordway singled out the defensive play of Vine, Barrett Clark, Ayla Mosher and — in her return from an ACL injury — Grace Sliman, as well as keeper Ginger Burland.  

“Livingston put more pressure on in the second half with No. 8 (Lexi Melin) showing as a dominant force with long range shooting capacity,” Ordway said. “Which sophomore defender Eleanor Parsons and junior captain Sage Ordway helped shut down.”
