Gisela Schubert Peterson, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully in her sleep July 19, 2026. Born in Boppard, Germany, on Oct. 10, 1939, she emigrated to the U.S. in December 1955 at 16 years old to Los Angeles, Calif., with her parents, Erich and Elisabeth Schubert, her older sister, Helga, and younger brother, Eric, sponsored by Airstream Trailers.
On Feb. 2, 1958, she married Henry Allen Peterson in Los Angeles. As a homemaker, she raised two sons, Clark Allen and David Glenn. Gisela and Allen moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho, in 1995. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage together until her death.
Known as “Noonie” or “Oma,” Gisela was beloved by all. Her light and smile will be missed.
Gisela was preceded in death by her parents, older sister and younger brother. She is survived by her husband, two sons, two granddaughters, Emily Grace and Lauren Elisabeth, and one great-grandson, Warren Clark.
