Janet Frazier, 72

Janet Frazier, 72, of Whitefish, passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Janet was born Sept. 29, 1953, in New York, to Beverley and Bart Crespin. After a friend bet her she couldn’t become a nurse, she took the challenge head-on and discovered a lifelong passion. She went on to dedicate more than 25 years to nursing, primarily serving patients and families throughout Flathead County.

She approached nursing with compassion, dedication and a genuine desire to help others. She believed in both conventional and homeopathic approaches to care and made a lasting impact on the countless people she served. With her no-nonsense personality and high standards, she was affectionately known by some as “Nurse Ratched.”

Janet loved her home in Whitefish and cherished the outdoors. Camping, fishing, fly fishing and gathering around a campfire with family and friends brought her great joy. Her love of fly fishing, long before it became popular, led to many memorable Trout Unlimited gatherings, where she enjoyed the friendships, stories and camaraderie of fellow anglers.

She was also a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. Through her commitment to sobriety, she formed deep and lasting friendships with people who supported and walked beside her, relationships that became an important and cherished part of her life.

Above all, Janet loved her family deeply. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Tara (Chris); her son, David (Kacy); her grandson, Ethan; her brother, Matt and her sister, Elizabeth. She was a constant source of strength, love, patience and support, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

Our family is deeply grateful to the many friends and the Logan Hospice professionals who provided compassionate care, comfort and support to Janet and our family. She will be remembered for her generous heart, dedication to others, fierce determination and the many lives she touched along the way.

A simple burial ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell to honor and celebrate her life.
