“Caden had a really nice pick and went straight through on the first goal,” NIC coach Brad Williams said. “He’s just so integral in our attack and vital in what we do. He’s been a really big threat in the attack and it’s paying off for us.”

Sophomore Taylor Corpron had three saves for NIC (4-0-1), which opens Scenic West Athletic Conference play at Pacific Northwest Christian of Kennewick, Wash., next Saturday.

Laramie County 2

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Hannah Rommes, a sophomore from Grants Pass, Ore., tied the game on penalty kick in the 43rd minute as the Cardinals played to a nonconference draw with the Golden Eagles at Laramie County Community College.

“This was one we felt we could have won,” NIC coach Luke Babson said. “In the second half, we hit the crossbar twice and were knocking on the door to win it. We just need to come out stronger in the first half and continue to get better. Right now, we’re giving up too many goals and need to shore up our defensive shape.”
