Indians game on Tuesday to honor area people living with ALS

SPOKANE — The Spokane Indians, along with the regional portion of the ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Association, is coordinating a day at the ballpark for the approximately 65 people living with ALS in our region. 

Together with the Indians, the ALS Association has arranged a special outing for people living with ALS and their caregivers to watch the Indians take on the Everett AquaSox on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 6:35 p.m.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive motor neuron disease that gradually robs people of their ability to walk, talk, swallow and eventually breathe.

"After recently losing my brother to ALS, I am volunteering to support those in our local community affected by this disease," Coeur d'Alene resident Steve Honig said.

Tickets are $20 each.  ADA-compliant seating is available. A portion of every ticket sold through this link will be donated to the ALS Association to fund continued research.

"Our primary goal is to provide a day of fresh air and baseball for these individuals; the event's success will be measured by the enjoyment of our local ALS families in attendance," Honig said. "Please join us for this great event."
