Range Riders defeat Mobiles, win 10th straight

The Glacier Range Riders stayed red hot Saturday, beating the RedPocket Mobiles 9-5 for their 10th straight win. 

Glacier (48-41 overall, 19-22 in second half) trailed 2-1 entering the fifth before breaking through for four runs. Donovan Ratfield tied the game with a sacrifice fly, Carson Hornung drew a bases-loaded walk and Jake Millan followed with a two-run single to give the Range Riders a 5-2 lead. 

The Mobiles (13-76, 1-40) scored twice in the sixth to pull within one, but Ratfield answered with a two-run homer in the bottom half. 

The Mobiles again cut the lead to two in the seventh before Hornung and Millan hit back-to-back solo homers to put the game away. 

Millan finished 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Ratfield had two hits and drove in three, while Hornung added two hits and two RBIs.

Range Riders 24, Mobiles 4 

Brock Vradenburg hit for the cycle and drove in nine runs as the Range Riders cruised past the Mobiles. 

Vradenburg got started with a two-run double in the first and added an RBI single in the fourth. He homered in the fifth before completing the cycle with a two-run triple in the sixth. 

Glacier had already built an 11-1 lead by the end of the fourth. Carson Garner hit a three-run homer in the inning and Jake Millan followed with a solo shot. 

The Range Riders kept pouring it on from there, scoring six more runs in the sixth and four in the seventh. 

Vradenburg finished 5 for 7, while Garner had three hits and four RBIs. Tommy Rover added three doubles and three RBIs, and Millan drove in three.

Friday 

Range Riders 16, Mobiles 3 

Tommy Rover homered twice and drove in five runs as the Range Riders continued their offensive tear with a win over the Mobiles. 

The Mobiles jumped ahead 2-0 on Jeremiah Cabuyaban’s two-run homer in the first, but the lead didn’t last long. Glacier answered with three runs in the bottom half, getting RBIs from Logan Beard, Carson Hornung and Jake Millan. 

Glacier added a run in each of the next two innings before Rover hit his first homer of the night in the fifth to make it 6-2. 

Glacier put the game away with five runs in the seventh. Andrew Collins hit a two-run homer before Millan cleared the bases with a three-run double. 

After Beard doubled home another run in the eighth, Rover capped the night with a grand slam to extend the lead to 16-3. 

Kyle Ashworth finished with four hits, while Hornung added three. Millan drove in four.
