Wolfpack soccer completes Helena sweep

HELENA — It may have come a day later than expected but the Glacier girls started the season with a 4-1 win over Helena Capital Saturday.

Lucy Holloway netted a brace for the Wolfpack, including the opening goal 16 minutes in. 

Gracie Winkler made it 2-0 two minutes later, and the Wolfpack were off and running. 

Neve Travis found her first goal of the season late in the first half and after Capital scored one in the early minutes of the second frame, Holloway finished off the game with her second goal. 

The Wolfpack were meant to open the season Friday against Helena High, but the game was abandoned in the first half due to lightning in the area and will be made up at a later date.

The Wolfpack boys finished their sweep of the weekend with a victory over the Bruins. 

Madrid Stephan highlighted the day with a hat trick for Glacier, while Zander Schmautz put home two goals. Liam Swank scored and had two assists. 

Jack Young made one save for the Wolfpack.
