Beth Ann "Becky" Altman, 67, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away Jan. 27, 2026, at Silverton of Cascadia Health and Rehabilitation in Silverton, Idaho. Becky was born in McCall, Idaho, to Albert “Ace” Altman and Mary Ann “Wild Rose” Ford. She spent her childhood across Western Montana and graduated from Ronan High School in 1976. After moving to Clark Fork, Idaho, she met David Miller, and the two soon married and welcomed two children.
Becky pursued her education in child psychology at North Idaho College and worked in a variety of fields, including education and wildland firefighting. She approached every role with resilience and a deep commitment to helping others.
For the past 21 years, Becky made her home in the mountain town of Mullan, Idaho. She tended to her beautiful garden every summer, creating a haven filled with warmth, laughter and the steady presence of friends and family. Her love for those close to her was boundless, and her smile had a way of brightening even the hardest days. She volunteered at several local history museums, utilizing her teaching skills and making a variety of friends. She loved hunting for gold, gems and artifacts, exploring the mountains, and picking huckleberries. When she was especially fond of something, she was known to say, “It’s the berries.”
Becky is survived by her children, Sadae (Darol) Lortz and Kyle (Christy) Miller; her grandchildren, Cassie, Danny, Donella, Dayton, Danaka and Dalayna; her seven siblings; countless close friends and her beloved wiener dog, Rowdy. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, grit and a generous spirit that touched everyone around her.
A memorial service will be held this summer. In honor of Becky’s love for local history, the family welcomes donations to the Captain John Mullan Museum, P.O. Box 675, Mullan, ID 83846.
