A woman riding a bicycle was arguing and yelling at a man walking by her on U.S. 93. They were interrupted when a vehicle pulled over and a boy got out with his father following him. The boy started yelling, “Get your hands off of her,” in the hopes of de-escalating the situation. The woman later told police that anytime she and the man argue, they hug each other.
Then she told officers that another woman, who initially called the police but had to get off the phone because she was on her way to church, reportedly jumped out of the vehicle, waving a gun around and screaming at the couple. Concerned for her own safety, she told the officer she pulled out her gun, but claimed it was pointed to the ground below her waist. The couple purportedly wanted officers to talk to the caller about firearm safety. Officers planned to get the caller’s statement.
Nearly an hour later, officers responded to a report of a screaming man and woman allegedly punching each other and using their bicycles to assault one another near a hotel on U.S. 93. The individual who watched the fracas unfold from the safety of a parking spot told dispatch that they had begun rolling around on the ground, fighting. When asked if they saw the couple with any weapons, the caller said just hands and bikes. They also said they had video footage of a portion of the fighting. Officers took the woman to the hospital to get a tetanus shot and then to jail.
Someone driving past a church spotted a man walking around wearing a pistol on his hip. He reportedly was suspiciously dressed in black clothing and wearing a black balaclava-style mask. Officers did a lap around and inside the church, and everything appeared to be OK.
A man allegedly pulled a knife on someone in a parking lot. The man left in a black Jeep Cherokee with a roof rack and a sticker on the rear right side of the vehicle, headed eastbound on Rose Crossing. The man was described as slim, 6 feet 2 inches and wearing a black hoodie and was accompanied by a blonde woman.
