Man dies in crash near Athol

A 79-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 95 north of Athol this morning.

According to the Idaho State Police, a southbound 1994 Jeep Wrangler rolled over at milepost 451 about 8 a.m. The driver was transported to Kootenai Health, where he was pronounced dead.

Southbound lanes of U.S. 95 were briefly closed before one was reopened. Both lanes were open about two hours later, ISP said.

An investigation continues.
