Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 1 month, 4 weeks AGO
Sarah Christine LaCoursiere, 39, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Jan. 28, 2026, after a courageous and valiantly fought battle with cancer and related complications.
To know Sarah was to love her, and to be loved by her was a gift.
Sarah was a devoted wife, mother and daughter; a beloved sister, a loyal friend and a woman deeply cherished by her family. She found the greatest meaning in moments shaped by laughter, sincere conversation and quiet connection. She had a rare gift for making others feel seen and valued, offering warmth, kindness and a presence that brought comfort. She loved freely and without conditions, offering herself fully to all those around her. She had a special way of making people laugh and always tried to bring light into every room.
During Sarah’s treatments, she faced each day with remarkable honesty, courage and gratitude. Even in those difficult times he cherished time spent with those she loved, valuing shared moments, real conversations, and simple togetherness more than anything else. Sarah spoke openly about her journey, hoping that by sharing her story, others would find comfort in knowing they were not alone. In the quiet spaces between appointments and long days, Sarah reflected deeply on her life, her faith, family and the people who meant the most to her.
Her family was her world, why she fought so hard. Every decision she made, every ounce of strength she found during treatment, and every prayer she prayed was for them. She was their safe place, their fiercest supporter and the steady love they could always count on. She was intentional about creating memories with her family ... moments she hoped would stay with them and last a lifetime.
Her faith was woven into every part of her life. Sarah trusted Jesus deeply and shared that faith openly, offering hope, encouragement and grace to those around her.
Sarah believed in doing hard things. She loved Flathead CrossFit not only for the challenge, but for the community and friendships it brought into her life, reminding her of her strength and resilience. She also devoted years of her life to driving a school bus and caring for the children in her community. The children she transported were never just passengers; they were kids she greeted with a smile, patience and genuine care.
In the final days of Sarah’s life, she was given her greatest wish. Family and friends gathered around her, surrounding her with love as she was welcomed into her eternal home. That time together, though heartbreaking, was a gift of grace.
Sarah’s life set an example we will carry forward each day in how we love, how we show up for one another and how we live out our faith. Her influence lives on in her children, her family and the many lives she touched. While their hearts ache, they find peace knowing she is healed, whole and free from pain.
Sarah is survived by her loving parents, Michael Hahn and Judy Fauerso Sommers. She is also lovingly remembered by her husband, children, siblings, extended family and countless friends whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 in the Tabernacle at Glacier Bible Camp, 400 S. Fifth St. W., Hungry Horse, Montana.
In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Sarah’s love for her children, donations may be made to:
The LaCoursiere Children’s Education Fund at Whitefish Credit Union.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Mayo Clinic Phoenix and Logan Health; and to the nurses, doctors and staff who cared for Sarah and her family with compassion, kindness and dignity.
We miss you dearly.
