Phillips Gallery invites art lovers to go on A Joyful Ride, the title of its latest exhibit featuring the oil paintings of Kalispell artists Lee and Anke Brooks.
The Brooks’ work emphasizes naturalistic compositions with careful observation of the landscape and accurately depicts everyday life.
“A Joyful Ride is a metaphor for life's journey, reflecting the artistic path of its creators, replete with diverse experiences, adventures and growth challenges,” said Tammy Phillips of Phillips Gallery.
The couple are dedicated to plein air and studio painting, actively participating with Glacier Plein Air Painters of the Flathead group, underscoring their passion for capturing nature's splendor. Lee Brooks’ art often narrates stories and personal experiences, whereas Anke Brooks’ work focuses on harnessing light and color to evoke a sense of connection.
The exhibit opens Feb. 4 and will be on display throughout the month. The public is invited to meet the artists during a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the gallery located inside the Kalispell Center Mall, 20 N. Main St. The artists will give a talk at 5:30 p.m.
