James R. Jamerson, 88

James R. Jamerson passed away at the age of 88 on Jan. 25, 2026, at Hospice of North Idaho in Coeur d’Alene. He was born Dec. 28, 1937, in Corvallis, Ore. He and his wife, Teresa, moved to Northern Idaho in 1990.

James graduated from Eureka High School in California in June 1955. At the age of 17, he joined the Army and was sent to school at Fort Devens, Mass., and trained as a member of the Army Security Agency. He was stationed on the island of Taiwan for most of his Army career. After discharge from the Army, he was employed by the CIA as a communication technician. He completed a three-year assignment on the island of Cyprus and a two-year assignment in Panama. After working for the government, he spent most of his career in the insurance industry.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; his son, Daniel; and his daughters, Sharon and Jamie. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He loved his wife, his family and Idaho.
