Judge Molly Owen rejected a plea agreement in District Court in Polson Jan. 28 in the case of a Ronan man who admitted to sexually assaulting four minors. Owen said the plea agreement for Glenn Alan Jorgenson, 68, was too lenient.

Prosecutor Lori Adams with the Lake County Attorney’s Office, explained that the mother of the victims was on board with the plea agreement as it accomplished three things, including Jorgenson taking responsibility by admitting to assaulting all four minors and agreeing to receive treatment; and her children not having to relive the details by testifying at trial.

Adams added that the children have been through enough hardship as they lost their father after their parents’ recent divorce.

Jorgenson entered a plea of guilty in District Court in Polson on Nov. 19, 2025, to one count of sexual assault. The plea was entered as part of an agreement that would have dismissed three other counts of the same.

It came with a joint recommendation of 10 years with the Montana Department of Corrections, with all that time suspended. The judge was not bound by the agreement.

According to court records, the incidents that led to the charges occurred in Ronan between June 18 and July 18, 2024. At the time, the four alleged victims ranged in age from 9 to 13 years old.

Judge Owen reset the case for trial on July 20. Jorgenson remains at liberty.
