The Whitefish Bulldogs experienced a roller-coaster stretch in Northwest A play last week, splitting games against Browning and Polson as the Bulldogs sit in second place of the conference with a 4-2 league record and an 8-4 overall record.
Whitefish dropped a 47-41 decision to Browning Indians on Thursday, Jan. 29, after being outscored 25-8 in the fourth quarter. Browning’s late surge erased a double-digit Whitefish advantage and swung the game in the final eight minutes.
Nyahrae Tatsey led the Indians with 11 points.
Whitefish was paced by Avery Orme, who scored 13 points, and Reese Hudson, who added 11 and went a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. Browning was held to just four points in the first quarter.
Earlier in the week on Tuesday, Jan. 27, the Bulldogs rolled past the Polson Lady Pirates 62-40. Orme delivered a dominant performance, pouring in 31 points and grabbing 15 rebounds as Whitefish built a 40-20 halftime lead.
Orme knocked down all three of her 3-pointers in the first half, while Allie Shors added 12 points, nine coming before halftime. Polson was led by Rylee Taylor-Jefferson, who scored 17 points.
