At the Whitefish Winter Carnival, festival goers this weekend should be on the lookout for the usual yetis, but also for the possibility of visitors from another planet.

The annual event marks its 67th year with a theme of “Out of This World.” The main event, the Grand Parade, makes its way through town on Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m. There's sure to be a few spaceships and aliens traveling along Central Avenue during the parade.

Earlier in the day, the Penguin Plunge at Whitefish City Beach begins at 11 a.m. Dips in the lake go toward supporting Special Olympics Montana.

Make sure to stop over at the pie social from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at St. Charles Parish.

For the youngsters, the Kiddie Carnival takes place at the Whitefish Middle School north gym from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Run by the Whitefish High School Leo Club, it includes a list of fun activities and prizes.

Immediately following the parade, head over to the Firebrand Hotel for the post parade social.

On Sunday, start the day with the annual pancake breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club at the Moose Lodge from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
