Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 9 hours, 24 minutes AGO
Steven Michael Hatcher, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Clark Fork, Idaho, on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, surrounded by the wife he loved.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Cabinet Mountain Calvary Church in Clark Fork, with Pastor Scott Douglas officiating. Military honors will follow at the Clark Fork Cemetery.
Steven was born March 29, 1947, in Pensacola, Fla., to Kenneth and Helen Hatcher. He grew up in San Diego, Calif., where he attended school and graduated high school in 1965. Shortly after, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country while stationed in Germany.
Steven spent 35 years working as a title examiner for Safeco Title in San Diego. On Jan. 10, 1981, he married the love of his life, Joyce Lemen, in Las Vegas, Nev. In 2003, Steven retired, and together they made their home in Clark Fork, a place that brought him great peace and happiness.
He was a devoted member of Cabinet Mountain Calvary Church and a life member of VFW Post 10320, where he faithfully served as treasurer. Steven had a curious mind and a quiet passion for researching baseball players, and he found joy and patience in building miniature trains.
Steven will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce Hatcher of Clark Fork; his daughters, Debbie Bean of Pennsylvania, Dana “Rae” (Matthew) Brouillette of Pennsylvania, and Danna Faye “Sam” (Steve) Copp of San Diego; his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Hatcher of Wisconsin, and his mother-in-law, Faye Lemen of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy.
