Both Lake City and Coeur d'Alene high school coaching staffs and baseball players volunteered their time, teaching over 140 players. They will be back at it on Saturday and Sunday, from 9 to 10 a.m. (ages 4-8) and 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. (ages 9 and up). Registration for the upcoming Coeur d'Alene Little League season is open, and Opening Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at Canfield Sports Complex.

    Courtesy photo The Hooptown Blazers 2031 AAU girls basketball team won the 16-team seventh grade girls division at the Winter Select Series West Coast Championships last weekend in Seal Beach, Calif.  There were teams from all over the West (Colorado, Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada). On Saturday the Blazers defeated the Primo Lady Soldiers and Las Vegas Bulldogs. On Sunday in the semifinals, they defeated FOH out of Seattle, Washington. In the championship game, the Blazers trailed most of the first half vs Team Prodigy, and after a back-and-forth in the second half, the Blazers pulled out four-point victory.
