A girls roundup: Whitefish holds off Ronan

RONAN — Allie Shors and Avery Orme tallied double-doubles as Whitefish bested Ronan 42-37 in Northwest A girls basketball Thursday.

Shors led the Bulldogs (9-4 overall, 5-2 in Northwest A games) with 18 points and added 12 boards, while Orme finished with 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. 

Reese Hudson added 10 for Whitefish, who jumped ahead 22-15 at the half. 

Nefertiti Stewart led the Maidens (3-11, 2-6 in conference) with 10 points, while Kailun Marengo added eight.

BIGFORK — Paeten Gunlock scored 28 points, 21 coming in the first half as Bigfork pulled away from Polson 54-39 Thursday. 

Gunlock knocked down four triples for the Valkyries (11-4, 8-1 in conference), while Payton DeSpain added 10. Bigfork took a 31-18 lead into the half. 

Aleysia Black led the Pirates (8-5, 4-3 in conference) with 18 points, including three 3-pointers. Hinkley Moss tallied eight.
