Edward King

Edward Gene King went to be with the Lord August 27, 2025.  He was 90 years old.  

Ed was born June 26, 1935, to Cecil and Dorothy (Kirkpatrick) King in Onawa, Iowa.  His family moved to the Seattle area in the early 1940s. After graduating high school, Ed joined the Army and served two years in Korea.  Upon returning home, he enrolled at the University of Washington.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.  

Ed began his career as a youth counselor for the State of Washington. He married Carol Jane Galloway on June 24, 1966. Ed finished his 25-year career as the Director of Youth Services in Clallum County.

After Ed retired, he moved to Soap Lake, Wash., and was active in volunteer work with Grant County CASA, Overcomers Outreach and Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved to golf, fish and hunt pheasant. Music was a big part of Ed's life. He loved to play, sing and listen to music.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dorothy King, his brothers Ray King and Don King, his sister Carolyn (King) Poe, nephews Donald Ray King and Terry Poe, and his niece, Rosalie McLaughlin.

He will be missed by all who loved him.
