PREP WRESTLING: Badgers finish with three podium placers in Coeur d’Alene

NORTH IDAHO RUMBLE TOURNAMENT

COEUR d'ALENE — Taylor Dodd (285), Aubree Graves (120) and Kylie Calderone (105) all finished in the top three of their brackets as Bonners Ferry participated in the North Idaho Rumble tournament from Jan. 30-31, finishing 16 in the 27-team tournament. 

Dodd was 4-1 during the tournament, winning four consecutive bouts by pin before falling just short in the championship match for Bonners Ferry's boys, which finished 16th out of 26 teams with 54.5 points.

Graves finished in third place as she went 3-1 over the course of the tournament, winning all three matches by pin, as did Calderone, who also finished third in her weight class for Bonners Ferry's girls, which finished 14th out of 25 teams with 44 points.

Among other Badgers wrestling were Eivind Falck (132), who won a match by pin, Ethan Matthews (138), who won two matches by pin, and Gaige Johnson (175), who won two matches by pin and another by an 18-3 first-round technical fall.

The next wrestling event for the Badgers will be the annual Conrad Garner tournament, set to be held on Saturday, Feb. 7 starting at 9 a.m. at Bonners Ferry High School.
