With the playoffs looming, the Badgers delivered. Taren Bateman had 23 points and 10 rebounds, Bristol Hill had a career-high 14 points and Nolie Hiatt scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds as Bonners Ferry snapped a three-game losing streak away against the Kellogg Wildcats on Feb. 5.
Ten steals and ten offensive rebounds from the Badgers were crucial to the victory in a game that could have gone either way at the half.
Bonners Ferry started the game with an 8-3 lead, before the quarter ended 14-11 in favor of the Badgers.
That three-point lead did not change at the end of the first half, but it did in a third quarter in which the Wildcats found it hard to score. Their five points paled in comparison to Bonners Ferry’s 15, as the deficit shot up to 13 points.
The final quarter was low-scoring and the game ended with a victory for the Badgers. They are now 10-8 on the season.
Bonners Ferry has one more regular season game against Flathead Valley on Feb. 7 in Kalispell, Montana before an away game against Timberlake of Feb. 9 in the 4A District 1 tournament.
