Troy boys bounce back with dominant win at Charlo

The Troy Trojans responded to a midweek league setback with an emphatic 57-25 Western 7B boys basketball win over the Class C Charlo Vikings on Saturday night.
Troy (7-3 overall, 2-1 Western 7B) seized control early, building a 25-10 lead after the first quarter and never letting Charlo back into the game. The Trojans’ defense set the tone, holding the Vikings to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters.
Nolan Morris led a balanced Troy attack with 16 points, while Carson Orr added 12. Dmitrll Walenter scored eight points, Thomas Guinard finished with seven and Mason Crowe and Emerson Downey chipped in six apiece.
The win came after Troy dropped a 61-46 decision to the Eureka Lions earlier in Western 7B action the week.
In that contest Tuesday, Troy held a slim 29-28 halftime lead before Eureka used a 16-5 third-quarter run to swing momentum. Logan Cuffe scored 17 points and Brody Chapman added 15 for the Lions.
Orr scored a game-high 18 points for Troy, while Downey added eight, Guinard and Morris scored nine apiece.
