Bobbie Lou Kayne went home to her Lord and Savior in the early morning of Jan. 10, 2026.

Bobbie Lou was a warm, loving mother and grandmother who never knew a stranger. She always knew how to make someone's day, whether by giving a compliment or by making one of her famous home-cooked meals. Her witty sense of humor could light up any room. She truly lived to serve others and was always there to lend a hand. Her faith was unwavering, and she shared the love of the Lord with many.

Bobbie Lou was born in Glenwood Springs, Colo., in 1947 to Mary Lou and Robert Anderson. She was the oldest of three children and grew up in Joseph, Ore. She lived in several different states before settling in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, for the rest of her days. Bobbie Lou had a long and successful career with the U.S. Forest Service. One of her favorite roles was being on the National Incident Management Team. She retired to tend to her legendary garden, which was a beautiful reflection of the growth that her love inspired. She was an excellent seamstress. She could mend any tear and sew lots of love into others' lives.

Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them and always pushed them in the right direction. They were her pride and joy. She proudly displayed a necklace with each of her grandchildren's birthstones, all 16.

She is survived by two siblings, John Anderson and Jane Schied. Three daughters, Jonna Greenough, Jenny Hanson and Jackie Kayne. Sixteen grandchildren (Jarrad, Steven, Hailey, Hank, Hagan, Blue, Heath, Hunter, Hope, Hyrum, Holt, Ashley, Logan, Shayne, Gavin, Lilly) and five great-grandchildren (Jayde, Adventure, Grayson, Adley, Kolson).

She will be deeply missed, and her love will live on through all her family and friends.

Please join her family in celebrating her life at her memorial service March 7 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2801 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, from 2-5 p.m. All are welcome!
