Lady Tigers keep making hoops progress

Whatever the scores of the games might eventually end up being, St. Regis Lady Tiger coach Zack is impressed with the progress his team has consistently made this season.
In their latest games, the Tigers stopped the Alberton Panthers 54-25 in Alberton in District 14C play Tuesday and fell to the Lady Trojans 69-34 in non-conference action in Troy Thursday.
Lott and company finish regular season play this week at Pablo against Two Eagle River Thursday and in St. Regis against Mineral County rival Superior Friday.
Lott was complimentary to his team’s efforts following the win over Alberton. “Overall, this game showcased the Lady Tigers’ effort, resilience and commitment to playing together,” he said. “It’s another strong step forward as the season continues.”
Emma Gillette led the Tigers in Alberton with 15 points, Daisy Sansom added 11, Jacey Pruitt eight, Mae Grosenbaugh, Izzy Hardy and Austyn Dalka four apiece, Shelby Simkins and Shannon Todd three each and Lilly Sansom two.
Against Class B Troy, the Class C Tigers were led by Simkins with 10 points, Todd added eight, Kiala Teeters three, and Gillette and Lilly Sansom two apiece.
Aspen Orr scored a game-high 19 points for Troy, Nauticka Larson had 12 and Hailey Dungan and Olivia Hall 11 each.
